Thought I would start a thread here for discussion on the new crafting main hand tools, which you need the Supras also for the exchange.
For the BSM Vulcan Lucis I will need to make 20 HQ Mummers Daggers which was automatically added in the Master recipe book. The mats are 3 composite whetstones, 1 Scheelite and 1 Ferberite. No idea where you get the Composite Whetstone at as its not a recipe. Same holds true for the other tools…the odd mat such as 3 Urushi's for carpentry Petrified Orb turn in, 3 Lampblack Linseed oil for Leather Patent Leather turn in, etc.
You also need 20 moonstones, also no idea where you get those at…
Okay those off mats you get at the Grand Companies for allied and GC seals. They also will drop from treasure maps. The synth's for those turn in items like the Mummer's Daggers and the otheres, are 3 star 222 difficulty 40 durability. I don't have a rotation for that diff and dura. The rotation I have for 3 stars is for the 445 diff, 80 durability so that won't work. Sky if you or Arch has a rotation for that could you post here please,
Ok this, as with other high level recipes, is more of a general rule than a strict "rotation" as it will be based on ToT procs, etc.
My "rotation" assumes you already meet the minimum requirements for ★★★★ crafting (451 Craftsmanship, 407 Control, 395 CP) but my stats are a little bit different because I went with different melds for a better CP management rotation on other ★★★/★★★★ recipes (453 Craftsmanship, 412 Control, 395 CP). Note that with max-melded Artisan Mitts you will have 398 CP instead of 395.
START - As with most rotations, begin with Comfort Zone, then Inner Quiet, then Steady Hand II. Normally after that you would use a Piece by Piece, but due to the low progress requirement, we're going with a Rapid Synthesis (80% chance) instead. It will all be clear why we do this when you get to the "finish" phase. Be sure to use Tricks of the Trade every time it procs during this phase. When your Rapid Synthesis lands, follow up with a Hasty Touch (80% chance) to bring yourself to 20 Durability. Depending on successes, you may need to pop a Manipulation as you could hit 20 durability before you finish these two steps.
FLOW - Once you've got your Rapid Synthesis done and are sitting with at least durability (and Manipulation is up), make sure you have Comfort Zone active at all times. Your next priority is Steady Hand II, as this will be necessary for a decent success rate with your Hasty Touch spam. Remember to always use Tricks of the Trade when it procs, also to keep an eye on durability and CP as you have relatively strict requirements for these to perform the final phase.
FINISH - You will need 30 durability and 96 CP for this phase. In cases where you have elected to leave Innovation off your bar, you will only need 78 CP but benefit less from the quality bonus on Byregot's Blessing. Firstly, remember to never use Tricks of the Trade in this phase. Now begin with Steady Hand, followed by Great Strides, and now you have options. If your condition changes to good or excellent, use Byregot's Blessing now and finish your synthesis by using Careful Synthesis II x2. If your condition is poor or normal, then pop Innovation, check condition again, if normal, use Careful Synthesis II once. Now you have no choice but to use Byregot's Blessing, so hopefully by now you got an excellent or at least a good condition proc. Finish with a final Careful Synthesis II.
Following the procedure correctly and with the right stats (remember, CP is very important, hence why we use HQ Bouillabaise food and Tricks of the Trade a lot) should land you at 90%-100% quality very consistently. If you want to include a Reclaim failsafe, you can, but it's not really necessary for these tokens as Talan will give you the expensive materials back if you manage to only get NQ results (so basically another free try).
I may refine this rotation based on more experience with it. For example, there may be a way to do this using "Basic Touch" but it would be highly CP intensive (I'll explore the idea, don't worry). If I discover something useful, I'll be sure to update the post accordingly.
Happy crafting, and may the RNG be ever in your favour!
As a side note… I have many "rotations" for different ★★★/★★★★ crafts that I've worked out and kept over the last few patches, so if people would make use of them, I can make a post with everything.
Just another update, those mats like the composite whetstones,Urushi, etc.that you need to make the turn in items, are also available via leves in Saint Coinach's Find. You get 3 of each for each leve. And thanks for that in depth report Arch.
Okay, guess I'm ready to start an attempt at making these, mummers daggers, for the BSM turn in items. Was just wondering if you tried any synths yet Arch? And if you came up with a final rotation to use?
My stats aren't quite as high as yours, craft is 445 and control is 404. And with food my cp is 390. I would think this would be close enough to make them though.
I haven't tried making these yet, but I too have been spamming leves to amass the required mats. If I get a chance, I may try to make some after work today, or possibly on Sunday, but I have company this weekend so I probably won't be around much. Next week I will nail down specifics for sure, but I suspect the rotation I provided earlier will be ideal. Your stats should be just fine for this, and they have an option where you can turn in NQ results to get the "rare mats" back for free and try again, so don't be afraid to experiment.
Okay sounds good, I'm working on collecting the mats also. I didn't know about turning in the nq result. Where do you do that at? Nvm read where you do it at Talan also….
